CHUT Festival
In November 2025 we organised our first festival: the Amateur Short Film Celebration.
Because cinema sits at the crossroads of science and art, we wanted to honour it. True to our science and arts mediation work, we spent a weekend screening, talking, explaining, playing, and sharing around film.
This year, Le Qu4tre — the cultural hub of Angers University — is hosting us again. Thanks to their teams and ours, from 9 to 15 November 2026 we will fill the venue around four themes: activism, taboos, childhood and ecology.
What forms of domination do adults exercise over younger people? What responsibility do past generations bear in the environmental crisis? What spaces to speak, and what room to act, do children have?
Because adultism is an oppression too often set aside; because we want to hear the voices so often answered with “Shh!”; because ecology is still too often treated as someone else’s business; because the unspoken runs through and weakens human relations in every sphere; and because activism is a matter of common interest — creating CHUT Festival felt obvious.
Across the week, through a mix of activities, we welcome many publics: students, children, families, arts and science amateurs, people who feel isolated, and the simply curious.
TEMPETEBRIA association
TEMPETEBRIA is a science and arts mediation association, only two years old.
TEMPÊTE began with a wish: to put science and the arts in conversation. Two fields too often kept apart, even though they complement each other and have so much to give.
We wanted to open up subjects still too often seen as elitist, and show that science is everywhere — even where we least expect it (in the kitchen, at the cinema, and far beyond). We wanted everyone to discover, claim, and share knowledge both ways: coming to teach as much as to learn. And always with art at the centre, enriching encounters and lifting the exchange.
Some time after TEMPÊTE was created, EBRIA — a live-arts collective — formed and joined the association. It brings together many practices, from performing arts to visual arts, photography and video.
This year we merged both names, to insist even more that science and art need not be split. We are now TEMPETEBRIA. (Ebripète, to those who know us.)
Through our projects, our festival and events to come, we care about sharing what matters to us and making room for joy, sharing, solidarity, resistance and wonder. Spaces to meet, to learn from one another, to question the world, and to imagine other possibilities — together.
